My wife and I recently looked for Turkish cuisine in Sydney as part of our ongoing effort to introduce our children to various cultures through their food. Fortunately Sydney offers up a lot of different national dishes, but not all places are equal in service and quality. In our explorations we have come across several duds so we always make sure to do our research and ask around among our friends and family members to see if they have any hot tips about the latest restaurants that are knocking it out of the park with their customers.
When we brought up Turkish food, several people immediately suggested a place that caters to both families as well as the late night crowd coming in after hitting the pubs in the area. We went online to look at their menu and both my wife and I were impressed immediately. They actually make pizzas! We bundled the kids in the car and headed down for lunch a couple of days later with the idea that we might try the pizza, although we hoped everyone would try something more ethnically Turkish. They have kebabs and Turkish dips and we thought both of those items sounded delightful.
I am happy to announce that the meal went over very well. Both of our children tried the kebabs and loved every bite. This is especially impressive considering our son is a bit of a finicky eater and doesn’t always take to new foods that he is not familiar with. I think he ate his meal faster than our daughter did! We liked the food so much that we ordered a pizza to take home for lunch and dinner the next day. I definitely believe our family has found a new favorite place. We’re looking forward to trying all the dishes in the future.
